New Rhinestone Ideas for 2016!

It’s a new year and as we pack away those glittery Christmas decorations and say goodbye to another year we can say hello to the season of DIY projects! Let’s face it, the weather isn’t exactly too welcoming outside so having the perfect craft projects to do indoors will help you avoid that dreaded mid-winter cabin fever! Here is a collection of some of our favorite new rhinestone trends for 2016.

Rhinestone Lanyard

Whether for carrying your dorm keys and college ID or for your work or house belongings, having a lanyard is pretty much a necessity. What ISN’T a necessity, however, is having a plain Jane lanyard! It comes as no surprise that we love rhinestones so combine the two and you have yourself a great DIY project. You will simply need to choose the rhinestones you like, get some fabric glue and you are ready to roll. If you are using this for your student ID, for example, show your pride by picking out your school colors. In fact, they may already be for sale in your campus store but you can save a ton of money by doing them yourself. You may want to buy some extra supplies though…chances are your friends will want their own!

Rhinestone Baby Shoes

Is there anything cuter than a blinged-out-baby?! We don’t think so. Add your own flair to those tiny little tootsies by gluing rhinestones to your baby’s shoes. When it comes to this project, it’s all about getting the right glue. If you have a hot glue gun handy, flat back rhinestones will adhere well to the toes and heels of the shoes. This is your creation so place the rhinestones wherever you would like! Around the lace holes or across the toe is a great way to add extra glam to your baby’s wardrobe.

Rhinestone Football Jewelry

The season may be coming to a close, but your favorite football team isn’t likely to change anytime soon, right? Now is the time to customize your own football rhinestone jewelry. One of the most popular options is to start with a plain leather cuff and then use different color gems to create a team mascot or even the team name. Other articles of jewelry that work well include headbands, earrings and necklaces. For a unique look, chose a standard metal dog tag and then bling it in your team’s colors.

Rhinestone Football Jersey

Football jerseys never go out of style…and neither do rhinestones. Love supporting your team but hate the less-than-flattering typical jersey? Make it feminine and unique by gluing rhinestones around your jersey number or creating your own glitzy designs. With this mini-makeover opportunity you certainly won’t be “just one of the guys” on game day!

Rhinestone Bracelets

Rhinestone bracelets are eye-catching no matter where you go, but if you are in a department store, you will be forced to pay a pretty penny in order to add that glam to your wardrobe. Buy European crystals and add them to your bangles and cuffs. It’s super easy. Use fabric glue of they are cloth bracelets and for metal or leather, try a hot glue gun!
